Our process is built around two planning meetings, a tailored entertainment timeline, and clear communication with your other vendors. We handle the detail so you can focus on enjoying the day. Premium sound, dynamic lighting, and packed dancefloors are what we do. 🎶✨
Our Process: From Planning to Partying
We make planning your wedding entertainment simple and enjoyable. Here’s what to expect as we work together on the soundtrack for your wedding:
🗓️ Meeting 1: Kickoff Planning Session
💻 Best done around the time you book (Book your meeting here!).
🎶 We’ll cover:
- The overall vibe and style of your wedding.
- Music preferences, including any must-plays or do-not-plays.
- Venue setup details, like the dance floor and sound system.
📋 You’ll also receive: - A checklist of what we’ll need from you, including formality songs, timing for key events, and other key details.
- An entertainment runsheet/timeline tailored to your plans, created during the meeting.
🗓️ Meeting 2: Finalising the Details
🎶 Held closer to your wedding date, this meeting is all about perfecting the plan:
- Confirm your timeline, special song choices, and any last-minute requests.
- Discuss the flow of the evening to ensure a seamless experience.
- Double-check any logistical details, like set-up times and equipment needs.
🎶 Ceremony Entertainment
Whether you opt for live acoustic performances or a DJ, we’ll set the right tone for your ceremony and pre-reception.
- 🎤 Acoustic or DJ options tailored to your preferences.
- 🔋 Powered or battery-powered setups for locations with or without electricity.
- 🎶 30 minutes of background music as guests arrive.
- 🎵 Ceremonial songs to accompany key moments like walking down the aisle, signing the registry, and the recessional.
- 🎶 Background music for canapés/cocktail hour while you’re off capturing those beautiful photos.
- 📦 Equipment pack-down and move to the reception area, ready for the reception.
📌 Important Note: Your celebrant will need to bring their own handheld microphone and sound setup, as our equipment is dedicated to the music for your ceremony.
🎧 Reception Entertainment
Your reception is where the night comes to life:
- 🎤 Microphone: A wireless microphone for speeches, toasts, and your MC. Need 2 or more mics? Ask us!
- 🎶 Acoustic or DJ options: Starting with dinner background music to set the mood, and later building up to an energetic dance floor.
- 🛠️ Equipment setup: All equipment will be set up and ready to go before guests arrive.
- 📦 Pack-up: After the reception concludes, we’ll discreetly pack everything up.
- 💃 Lighting: Dynamic lighting to enhance the dance floor atmosphere.

DJ Dan was an incredible MC and DJ! He really made our wedding night flow smoothly! Dan is an expert in what he does and has the ability to read the room and adjust as the night goes on.He made us feel so comfortable and confident throughout the entire planning process, and he also went out of his way to help us have a successful sparkler exit at our wedding! Dan is a superb DJ and entertainer! He was great to work with, communicative, and really had a keen sense of what our style and vibe was – we had our wedding 5 months ago, and we STILL have so many guests rave about how amazing Dan was! We are so grateful for the fantastic atmosphere he provided, the amazing music, and how accommodating he was when we had a last minute change of plan for end of the night activities 🙂 We also booked the Party Pix Photobooth through Dan and Magenta was so so lovely operating the photobooth, keeping the vibes up, and helping us to print multiples of each photostrip! Guests also recieved digital copies, and so do we have digital copies of all the fun everyone had with it! We could not recommend Dan and Magenta more!

DJ Kerry from Spinning Disc Entertainment DJ’ed our wedding on 8/2/25.The dancefloor vibes were really important to us, and Kerry did not disappoint! We have so many wonderful core memories already of dancing with each other and with family and friends. We had a blast and had feedback from our guests that they’ve never had so much FUN at a wedding. Thanks to Kerry for coping with a variety of requests and making everything work nicely together. If I could give Dan a 6/5 I would!From the very beginning he was amazing to work with. Being super organised with our first meeting and creating a spread sheet that was easy to follow and thorough.We gave Dan the open mic and let his passions and creativity shine and he delivered in ways that are unforgettable!! He was the highlight of our wedding the dance floor was never not PACKED!! Everyone was up and dancing and having a ball!!we have had so many complaints on how smoothly our day went and all thanks to Dan!Dan, you made our night one we will never forget. Fantastic DJ service.Dan helped us setup the playlist and told us helped us organize what music was needed. DJ Chris did great on the day of the wedding, dance floor was popping off with him doing the music.Thank you for making the day special

We hired DJ Dan for our wedding on the 11.04.26 and were very happy with the service provided. He provided music for both our ceremony and reception – he did an outstanding job choosing and mixing the music throughout the night! We had children at the event and he was able to adapt the music throughout the night to suit everyone of all ages. He was very engaging and was able to get people up dancing for hours! Highly recommend booking him for your next event 😊

We had Tim perform acoustic guitar and vocals for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and he was absolutely fantastic. His voice and playing created such a beautiful atmosphere, and so many of our guests commented on how good he was. He really helped make the day feel special and relaxed.The whole process of booking through Spinning Disc was also incredibly easy and straightforward. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with DJ Dan and his team, Jay, the acoustic singer—what an incredible duo!DJ Dan was an outstanding MC. He kept everything running smoothly and made the entire reception feel seamless. One of the highlights was the scavenger game he recommended—it got everyone involved and was still being talked about long after the wedding. He also did a fantastic job choosing music during the quieter moments, creating the perfect atmosphere. Every request we made came to life exactly how we envisioned.What really stood out was how thoughtful and organised he was. Before the reception, he came over and had a quick discussion with us to walk through what would happen. Throughout the night, he continued to check in and keep us informed about what was coming next, which made us feel so comfortable and at ease.Jay was absolutely amazing. She followed all instructions perfectly, and her performance during our first dance was unforgettable. She learned a song especially for us and honestly sang it even better than the original—it completely blew us away. Although I couldn’t move as much due to my dress, hearing that song performed live with so much soul made the moment incredibly special.We are so grateful to both of them for working so well together and creating such a memorable experience. They were professional, talented, and affordable—everything you could hope for.We will definitely be hiring them again for future events and will be recommending them to all our friends and family. Truly a fantastic experience!

Dan was our DJ and MC for our wedding and we can’t fault him! From the initial planning meetings to the day of the wedding, Dan was so organised and really listened to what we wanted for our day!He read the crowd great, tailored the playlist to the song suggestions we gave him and was also a wonderful MC for the night.The schedule ran on time and the formalities ran so smoothly. Would highly recommend!
